scanner not working on HP MFP m125nw

Asked by andresimi

Hi, I have a printer HP Laser Jet Pro MFP m125nw installed on fedora 29 with hplip version 3.18.6. The printer is doing fine, however I cannot get scanner to work. I installed the hp-plugin, it recognizes the scanner but when I get to scan it never ends and never scan nothing.

Here some outputs from hp-scan, hp-check

Thank you for the help

Tried Xsane, simple-scan, hp-scan, skanlite, gscan2pdf and the auto-installer auto-installer from (https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/howtos/install#howtocheck2) without success.

Hi andresimi,

Fedora 29 support is yet to be added in the hplip driver and hence you are seeing this issue. Please use fedora 28 for the scan functionality to work fine. Fedora 29 support will be added in the hplip driver for the future releases.

Regards,
Santhosh

Actually, I upgraded to fedora 29 hoping that this was fixed. On fedora 28 the scan didn't work either...
