hplip-3.18.9 not working after Ubuntu 18.04 upgrade

Asked by David H

I've followed the steps here to install hplip-3.18.9 after upgrading to Ubuntu 18.04:

https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/install/install/index

I cannot print to my printer anymore. I had no issues printing to this same printer on Ubuntu 16.04 prior to this upgrade. Please advise. Thanks.

Just re-installed Ubuntu 18.04 clean and installed hplip-3.18.10 after. Problem still exists - cannot print. Received "hplip failed to load module canberra-gtk-module" error throughout install process. Also hplip is unable to start the system tray process due to "not installed on this system" issue.

Are there any diagnostics I can provide to help troubleshoot?
