HP C7280 printer is busy after installing hplip-3.9.2.run

Asked by Galen Whipple

Ubuntu update program installed a new version of cups and after that I get "Processing - recoverable network hot xxx.xxx.x.x is busy will retry in 30 seconds" when I try to print the test page on networked HP C7280 printer. I then manually downloaded hplip-3.9.2.run and used the auto installer to install it, had to manually enter the ip of the printer. Get the same message . Here is the output of hp-check -t >/tmp/a 2>&1

note: To check for compile-time only dependencies, re-run hp-check with the -c parameter (ie, hp-check -c).
note: To check for run-time only dependencies, re-run hp-check with the -r parameter (ie, hp-check -r).
warning: NOT FOUND! This is an OPTIONAL/RUNTIME ONLY dependency. Some HPLIP functionality may not function properly.

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the
proper dependencies are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied
tarball has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time
dependencies).

Aaron,

I ran the

sudo aptitude install --assume-yes cupsddk cupsddk-drivers

command per your request and then deleted and reinstalled the printer. It appears to be working now.

Thank you very much for your help!
