How to disable sleep mode so printer should in weak up in Linux Fedora 15

Asked by Sanket

I am developing application in Linux (Fedora 15) operating system using HP LaserJet Pro M104a A4 printer. I am facing one issue with printer, when my application is stand by mode more than a hour, ultimately printer also goes into standby, but once application wake up printer does not weak up its in sleep mode. My question is how to disable sleep mode in Linux Fedora 15 Operating system? Because my application will run 24x7, so I need to printer should in weak up every time. Also printer not giving any status to my application, like paper Jam, Paper Out, etc. This is automated application so I cannot manually or physically interact with printer to weak up. I am using HPLIP 3.18.6 Version of drivers.

Hi,

HPLIP supports from Fedora version 17 onwards.
Even though printer is in standby if you give print/scan it will wake up and print if you use hp-toolbox GUI.
Other applications might not work with the HPLIP driver.
So you can use hp-toolbox GUI for print and scan, Cups page for print. If doing scan, you can use hp-uiscan GUI on HPLIP 3.18.9 driver onwards.
