Ink cartridge problem: Tells me to remove and reinstall which I have done

Ink Cartridge problem: The instructions say to remove and reinstall the black ink cartridge which I have done. I have even replaced it with a new cartridge but the message continues and I cannot print.

My operating system is Lubuntu 18.04.1 and the printer is HP ENVY 4512.

I removed the suspect new cartridge and installed a second brand new ink cartridge and the printer functions as intended. I suspect I purchased a defective ink cartridge. In any event the problem has disappeared because I cannot replicate it.
