 ===================

Printer has been printing without any problems until 12 September it suddenly stopped working on 13 September.
I have tried adding printer in hope that it would solve the problem but to no avail.
I now cannot delete the added printers because using my user/password (which is the only one for sudo as well)
When trying to delete printers added via the toolbox via localhost 631, it says "authentication failed" despite there is only one password as I'm the user and administrator.

The printer is discovered and shown on the HPLIP Toolbox as 'Idle', but test page or any documents sent to it do not print at all. Cannot see a 'check' although printer is showing as Default Printer. Error message indicates that there was an error processing document.

The printer used to work with a standalone windows PC but has dropped out of detection and therefore cannot print either.

Your advice as to how to fix this problem without having to re-install Mint 19 would be most appreciated.

Hi,
Linux Mint 19 support is planned to be added in hplip driver in the release planned in month of September. Please check for the latest release information in hplip developer portal by this month end for Linux Mint 19 support.
Regarding your another query on how to remove the already added printer, you can use the hp-setup -r command to remove the device from the driver.

Thanks,
Srinivas

But the printer worked until it stopped all of a sudden. It cannot
authenticate my sudo password. My other Windows standalone PC has lost the
HP Laserjet printer as well.

It would be appreciated if you can let me know which version of hplip
should I install as I think I need to re-install Mint afresh as a quicker
way to solve the printing problem.

thank you very much
Daisy
