Asked by Anand Manthena

I wish to know - which version of HPLIP to be downloaded along with which version of Release Note applicable to the cited printer (and from which sources/website links) to activate the printer without functional issues?

Hi Anand,

This printer model is not yet supported in the hplip driver. Please check the HPLIP portal for the new release updates.

Srinivas Teja.

Hi Srinivas,

Thanks a lot for your prompt response. Kindly confirm whether HPLIP 2.7.9
togethet with Release Note HPIJS 2.7.9 would work? If yes, how to go about?

Thanks and regards,

Anand

Hi Anand,

Please install our latest driver, Goto https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/gethplip and download and install the latest driver for your distro.
Do hp-setup to add printer (https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/install/manual/hp_setup)
Then use hp-toolbox GUI for printing.
See if it works.

Regards,
Srinivas Teja.

Hi Srinivas,

Thanks a lot for your kind support.

On accessing the first link, I was led to the HPLIP version 3.18.6 - deemed to be the latest driver, seemingly compatible with my distro, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. The first attempt failed to install the driver. I retried a second time. The driver failed to install the second time also. The need for going to the second link did not arise. I am back to where I started and the problem remains unresolved.

I await your further instructions.

Regards,

Anand
