HP Laserjet Pro M102 a Linux

Asked by Jan Greeff

I purchased a HP Laserjet Pro M102a and my Ubuntu 16.04 Unity 64-bit picked it up immediately, but it does not print. I have found a Laserjet m102a in the list of supported printers with my current HPlip software, but am not sure if this printer differs from the Pro model and cannot find a M102 Pro in the interminable list of supported printers.

If I install the wrong HPlip version, my Officejet 6313 scanner will not work so I am not sure where to go from here.

Hi Jan Greeff ,

As of now we do not support HP Laserjet Pro M102a in HPLIP, maybe you can check the future releases.

Ayushi

Meanwhile I sit with a new printer that does not work and must wait for a pie in the sky? Sorry, not good enough. Looks like I will have to return the printer to the suppliers and try to find a new supplier or a different brand.

I have now installed HPLip 3.18.6 which has successfully activated my Laserjet Pro M102a, however, now my HP 6313 Officejet does not work. The system picks it up and installs it, but there does not appear to be any communication between the computer and the printer, which is being used solely for scanning purposes.
