Problem with HP LaserJet Pro M203dw

Asked by Julian

I'm on Ubuntu 18.04, and the printer is HP LaserJet Pro M203dw.
The default HPLIP installed is v3.17.10, and it support LaserJet Pro M203dw from the release notes.

But I got really weird problems with my printer:

I Add the printer from System Setting > Devices > Printers.
The automatic searching for driver seems not working, so I select the driver manually with `select from Database` in Printer Details.
I didn't see the LaserJet Pro M203dw, so I selected the LaserJet Pro M203-M206.

After I setup the printer, when I'm printing:
- some cases, it works just fine;
- some cases, it have no repossess for very long time;
-some cases, it tells me that printing is complete with noting printed;
-some cases, it tells me to restart the printer for no reason.
-.....

I tried both network and usb connect.
I really can't understand what's going on here, please help!
