Get HPLIP's public key no ultimately trusted keys found

Asked by John G. Galinski

Trying to 3. Get HPLIP's public key (run as a regular user) and 4. Verify the HPLIP key to the HPLIP package (run as a regular user).
[ilmsmgr@rsi-ilms1 Downloads]$ /usr/bin/gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys 0xA59047B9
gpg: requesting key A59047B9 from hkp server pgp.mit.edu
gpg: /home/ilmsmgr/.gnupg/trustdb.gpg: trustdb created
gpg: key A59047B9: public key "HPLIP (HP Linux Imaging and Printing) <email address hidden>" imported
gpg: no ultimately trusted keys found
gpg: Total number processed: 1
gpg: imported: 1
[ilmsmgr@rsi-ilms1 Downloads]$
[ilmsmgr@rsi-ilms1 Downloads]$ gpg --verify hplip-3.18.5.run.asc hplip-3.18.5_rhel-7.0.x86_64.rpm
gpg: Signature made Wed 23 May 2018 11:36:51 PM CDT using DSA key ID A59047B9
gpg: BAD signature from "HPLIP (HP Linux Imaging and Printing) <email address hidden>"
[ilmsmgr@rsi-ilms1 Downloads]$ whoami
ilmsmgr
[ilmsmgr@rsi-ilms1 Downloads]
I expected no warnings or errors like " gpg: no ultimately trusted keys found" or
gpg: BAD signature from "HPLIP (HP Linux Imaging and Printing) <email address hidden>"

Hi John,

Try using the key which comes as part of the package in the "hplip-<version number>.run.asc" or hplip-<version number>.tar.gz.asc file.

Site to download hplip;
https://sourceforge.net/projects/hplip/files/hplip/
Select the hplip version and download the entire package.

If the issue still persists do let me know.

Regards,
Ayushi
