EWS disable webserver for HP2015

Asked by Gerrit

I want to disable the build-in embedded webserver (EWS) of my HP2015 laser printer, in order to make it more secure.
The printer is connected to linux, and I do not want to do it interactively, because it has to be done for many printers.
The HP2015 does not have a telnet interface.

Does any1 have any idea how to do this ?

Gerrit,

The HPLIP support forum on launchpad only provides support for the HPLIP project. I have however looked over the user documentation for the HP LaserJet 2015 and I don't see any information on how to disable the EWS. You may need to contact HP Total Care from http://www.hp.com for additional information.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

Aaron

Gerrit,
You will need to access the embedded web server to make your printer more secure.

Open the embedded Web server
To open the embedded Web server, type the IP address or hostname of the printer in the address field of a supported Web browser. To find the IP address, print a Configuration page at the printer by pressing and holding the Go button for 5 seconds.
NOTE: After you open the URL, bookmark it so that you can return to it quickly in the future.
The embedded Web server has three tabs that contain settings and information about the printer: the Status tab, the Settings tab, and the Networking tab.

You will need to go to the Security > Settings

Below is the link for more detailed information on your HP 2015.

Hope this helps..
