Support for HP LaserJet MFP M28w

Asked by Marc

Hi,

I tried to install the new LaserJet MFP M28w on my Linux system, but obviously this printer isn't supported yet. Is there any garantee that it will be supported in the future? If yes, when can I expect the next HPLIP release?

Thanks for any answers.

Greetings

Hi Marc,

The support for the device "LaserJet MFP M28w" in hplip will be available in the next release planned in this month of April (end). Please look for the release announcement in the Launchpad or the project portal -
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing

Thanks,

Hi Badal,

That's good news. I already had looked for the release announcement, but only could find the release notes…

Anyways, thank you!

Greetings,

Marc

Hi !
I am on ubuntu 18.04. My printer is working properly but my scanner is not working! In the terminal, the commande line hp-uiscan -g orders : "hp-uiscan[2187]: debug: Using PyQt4". ...And PyQt4 is already installed !?
Thanks
Jp

The scanner has been reported as not working in several places, maeyaert, due to some timeout. I believe there are some workarounds but nothing yet just to scan cleanly from any regular SANE frontend.
