1) distro: centOS 7.4
$ cat /proc/version
Linux version 3.10.0-
2) printer: HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw
3)
$ hp-check -t
warning: CUPSEXT could not be loaded. Please check HPLIP installation.
4) when running hp-setup, either (for usb or wireless config), the PPD file is not found.
I added the following lines in the /usr/share/

I installed successfuly the hplip tools on a centOS 6 system (with the above models file).
When upgrading to centOS 7, a problems occurs at the installation.
5) I downloaded hplip-3.
$ rpm -ivh --force hplip-3.
I then modified the models.dat file
The hp-setup script does not work with python 2.7.14. I found that it worked with python 2.7.5 (for me in /bin/python)
$ /bin/python /usr/bin/set-up
the device is found
when clicking the next button: (Not found. Click browse button to select a PPD file.)
I clicked on the browse button and chose a driver in the list: /usr/share/
But the printer in not installed.
Thank you for your help!
