HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281 - no driver for Linux Mint?

My System: Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64-bit

Hi all,

I bought a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281. In the descripction was said that this printer works on Linux. However, it is not working now. Is it possible that I did something wrong? Or is it a known problem with solution / or no solution?

The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281 model support is yet to be added in the HPLIP release. We are reviewing this request with team and keep you posted on this product support availability in the future HPLIP release.

Since I am very new here, I don't have any idea. Can you say something when it can be expected? Will it be days, weeks, months? It is important to decide wheter I need another printer, or find a temporary solution.
