Using Ubutu 16.04. Am new to Ubuntu. Cannot get CP1025 usb printer working.

Asked by Dave Barrett

I am new to Ubuntu, I have always used Windows and have in the past developed various software, more recently using Delphi. I do not know what I am talking about with Ubuntu as I am so new to this OS. but am very impressed. I cannot get my HP CP1025 printer workingn but confess it is probably me doing something wrong. My OS is Ubuntu 16.04. I have downloaded hplip.rdf but have not tried to install it due to lack of knowledge. I have followed several other pieces of advice using Terminal but none have worked. The printer remains dead although it is building up a queue, just not printing. Please help.

Hi,

In HPLIP drivers, you are suppose to use .run file not .rdf
you can download the latest hplip version from the below link:
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/gethplip
Refer this link for step by step installation process via terminal:

Thanks,
Sujay
