HP 8725 Came with no Cartriges - wont complete setup

I bought an HP 8725 floor model from Sams today. It had no cartridges; so I bought an entire set plus an backup - which totaled well over the price of the printer.

I'm trying to setup, and the setup screen stalls at "Use setup cartridges that came with the printer"

Since it has no cartridges - I can't do that.

Is there a work around - or do I just need to take this and all the cartridges back for a refund.
