how to set duplex settings (for one station, for all the network stations)

Hello,

I configured an OfficeJet Pro 8500 on my network. I want to set the duplex setting once for all, so that everyone using that printer should print in duplex mode (and thus save paper). So I have 2 questions:

1) In hp-toolbox > print settings > Basic, I set the duplex value to "two sided (long edge)". But when I print (from eg Firefox or Kpdf), the duplex setting is none. I also configured my local Cups server via http://localhost:631/ to define the "Double-Sided Printing" value to "long edge (standard)", but the problem remains. So what can I do to define the duplex setting (and keep it defined) ?

2) I have many stations on the network (all linux-based), how can I configure this duplex setting directly onto the printer, so that I don't have to reproduce the same configuration on each station of the network ? (I didn't find such a setting on the printer's webserver.)
