Printing to 11x17 tray using HP LaserJet M725 and SLES 11 SP3 is failing

Printing to 11x17 tray using HP LaserJet M725 and SLES 11 SP3 is failing. The printing used to work at a different occasion with a Linux print server of similar build. Would like to confirm the correct version of the cap file (and/or other files) is being used on the new print server. The old print server is unfortunately no longer available so we are unable to confirm what it was using when everything worked correctly.

I assume "HP LaserJet M725" means a
"HP LaserJet Enterprise MFP M725".

According to HP's device specification in
http://store.hp.com/wcsstore/hpusstore/pdf/cf066a.pdf
devices of the HP LaserJet Enterprise MFP M725 series
support PostScript level 3 and even PDF 1.4
plus "scan to e-mail" so that you should normally not need
any driver software, neither for plain printing nor for scanning.

In particular I think you should normally not need HPLIP, see

To set up the printing unit all you should normally need
is the PPD (PostScript Printer Description) file
