HPLIP

HPLIP compatibility with HP Envy 4526 printer

First of all thank you for providing HPLIP.

I plan to buy the HP Envy 4526 all in one printer. I would like to use HPLIP to get this working with my Ubuntu 16.04 system. However this model is not specifically named as a supported device in your descriptions or release notes. Closest model is Envy 4524. I am assuming there is a good chance that this driver will work for this purpose. Can you please advise if this is going to work?

Hi,
Thanks for choosing HP printer. As you mentioned the 4526 model series is not yet supported in the hplip driver. Installing the 4524 supported driver in 4526 series might not work.

Hi Nishita,

Thanks for the reply. I had decided to try it yesterday and purchased the
HP Envy 4526 and fortunately it worked with HPLIP (4520 series support) and
can confirm it works fine. It was a gamble but am very relieved.
