Is Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw not yet supported?

Hello,

seems like Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw is not yet supported by HPLIP. Are you planning to support this printer?

As you mentioned the Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw support is yet to be added in HPLIP. We will get this discussed with HP Program team and update on the support addition for M281fdw in future HPLIP releases.

Hi,

thanks for the answer. Printing is not an issue for me using USB or network (via cable), although I picked e. g. "HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277 Postscript"...

But it would be much better to scan directly e. g. via GIMP, instead of using the build in scan to network folder. BTW, if scanning to a network folder, you only support formats that compress the scan result while loosing information (jpg, pdf). Why not adding a format like png or tiff where even if compression might be used, no data is lost?

Hi Ingo,

it's sad, that until today HPLIP does not seem to support the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP281fdw. :(
In the meantime I want to set up the scan-to-network-folder feature. I set the access permission to the folder (even allowing others to access the folder).
Then I configured the scanner via the HP configuration page with URL: `\\aruba\home\christian\Dokumente\Scans` (aruba is the host name). When testing the folder, it fails.
Could please let me know what the expected syntax for the URL is?

I also would like to know when the next release will be. I have downloaded hplip 3.18.4 and it still does not offer support for the MFP M281fdw.
