HPLIP Full(End of Support) meaning

Asked by Neil Hawkins

Hi,
Was just going to buy the HP 5544 Envy printer & had noted that it required HPLIP 3.15.9 or 3.15.11 & thought it had "Full Support" on HPLIP site. Today it now says Full Support (End of Support). Does this mean they have suddenly removed the drivers that I would need to run this printer? What exactly do they mean? Please note that I have a version of HPLIP (3.14.3) on my PC already to drive an old HP 3180 Photosmart printer & run Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 32 bit, but intend to upgrade to the latest LTS version in the next few months.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Neil

Hi,
New printer bought, but not arrived. HP says it should work, but could not
be definitive. Will see when printer arrives.
Thanks.
