My HP 2050 printer will not print from my computer.

My printer is a HP 2050 model. My grandson installed Linux for me some months ago. Since then computer printed as normal and then it didn't for a month or so and then it did and for the last 3 months it does not.
Seems similar to a question above I opened in that the printer is not out of ink - it still prints photocopies. It will seem to engage but as query above then rattles along nicely and I'm left with a blank page - seems that the ink heads don't know what supposed to do when coming from computer command.
I still have several copies waiting for print in the printer icon at top of page, however it mocks me - they are all pending.
I am also not a technical person and think for this operating system I need to be more than windows, however I allowed my grandson to make the change but unfortunately we are no longer in the same country.
Any advice I will understand?
