HPLIP support for OfficeJet Pro 8218 and Color Laserjet Pro M254nw?

Hello,

the following two printer models are not listed under supported printer for HPLIP:
- OfficeJet Pro 8218
- Color Laserjet Pro M254nw

Can these however, maybe be used with HPLIP nevertheless (with a limited set of features), e.g. by configuring the first one as OfficeJet Pro 8210?

Hi Markus,
We cannot configure the OfficeJet Pro 8218 to OfficeJet Pro 8210 and add printer through HPLIP driver. This option will not work.

Hi,

I've got the same M254nw printer. As I understand, it is not supported by HPLIP? So I better return it to HP, because it would not work under Fedora....
