HP LJ Pro MFP M26nw scan stopped working after installing 17.10

Asked by Paolo Spazzini

Good afternoon to all
I installed Ubuntu 17.10 last week and my printer (HP LaserJet Pro MFP M26nw) stopped to be able to scan a document.
Printing is working fine.
The scanner function used to work OK with 17.04.
The message I get is
Failed to open device 'hpaio:/usb/HP_LaserJet_Pro_MFP_M26nw?serial=CNBKK5L39B':Operation not supported.
I also de-installed and re-installed the printer from scratch to see if it could clear the problem.

is there a way to fix or workaround this problem?
should I reverse back to 17.04?
thanks a lot in advance
Paolo

Hi,

We are yet to support Ubuntu 17.10, hence it will be supported in the future release, please install any previous version of Ubuntu.

Thanks,
Afshan
