lsusb does not display the parallel port interface from my printer

Asked by victor12

I want to use my printer hp laserjet 1100 on Ubuntu 12.04

I download and installed HP Linux imaging and printing without probolems.

However I did not have results In the graphical interface where the device is found.

I search on the forums, this specifically:
https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2084177&page=2

The command "lsmod | grep par" displays the expected result:
parport_pc 32114 0
parport 40930 3 parport_pc,ppdev,lp

Then I checked if my system can now recognize that I have a parallel port connected to a USB:
lsusb

But the output does not display a parallel port connected:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0024 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub

Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0bda:58c1 Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 04d9:1503 Holtek Semiconductor, Inc. Shortboard Lefty

Note: My printed is on and connected to a working usb port.

Does anybody know why my Laptop is not recognizing this parallel interface?

Thanks.
