Upgrade firmware

In the office we have now a HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fn,
we want to upgrade the firmware, the sole solution I've found
is under Windows & macOS.

HP offers Linux compatibility but not firmware upgrade,
it is uncomplete, do you have any solution ?

Is HPLIP & HP planning to support firmware upgrading
on printers that do not use FTP to upgrade ?
