Printing photo 6x4 via HPLIP uses 6 sheets of 6x4.

Asked by Stephen Goodey

Hello, I suspect I'm being stupid but here goes.

I'm using Opensuse 11.1, KDE 4.2.1, HPLIP 3.9.2 Device Manager 15.0 (Qt4) with an HP Photosmart D7160 printer.

I'm using HPLIP to print a photo stored on the pc's hard drive. I pick the file req'd and set the paper size as 6x4 and the media source as the photo tray, everything else is default.

Why does it spread the print over 6 sheets of 6x4 paper? What do I need to do to get it to print on one sheet?

Regards, Steve.

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or
.run) to determine if the proper dependencies are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an
already built HPLIP supplied tarball has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will check both of the above cases (both
compile- and run-time dependencies).
