Large top margin printing a 5x7 photo

My computer is a Dell Inspiron 546 with Linux Mint 18.1 Serena - the printer is a HP OfficeJet 6700 Premium all in one.
When I try to print a 5x7 photo using pre-cut 5x7 photo paper and selecting media size of 5x7, it prints a nice photo but the top margin is 1/2 in while the side and bottom margin is 1/8 in.
I selected photo "centered" and have tried with and without selecting "fit to page" and it prints the same.
I also selected media size as 8-1/2 x 11 and "centered" and it prints the same 5x7 photo in the upper left of the page with a 1/2 margin at the top and 1/8 on the left side.
I would like to be able to print on the pre-cut 5x7 and have equal 1/8 margins on all sides !!

Problem was operator error - the picture I was trying to print was not in the exact 5x7 format dimensions - I cropped the picture so that the size was in a 5x7 format then printed it - it worked perfect and fitted the pre-cut 5x7 paper perfectly
