Will the laserjet p1009 be supported in the future?

Asked by Anton Cox

The Laserjet p1009 appears to be very similar to the p1006; all the documentation and specs for the two on the web appear to be common. Is there a way to use the p1006 driver to run this (or will it be supported at a later date)?

We're looking into adding the HP LaserJet P1009 in the next release of HPLIP. Although I can't promise it will be done--it seems highly probable that it should be supported in the future.

Thanks for your support of HPLIP--we appreciate it.
