HPLIP 3.17.6 on Ubuntu 16.04

The installation of HPLIP 3.17.6 on Ubuntu 16.04 has been successfully completed.

I am trying to add my new HP Laserjet Pro MFP M126nw model to my Ubuntu machine. I understand that this requires non-opensource propreitary plugin to be installed.

When I try to connect the printer over USB or over Network, I get an error saying that the plugin cannot be installed. I get the following error that I get at the installation time:

error: /home/vasan/.hplip/hplip-3.17.6-plugin.run file does not match its checksum. File may have been corrupted or altered
error: Failed to install Plugin.
error: The device you are trying to setup requires a binary plug-in. Some functionalities may not work as expected without plug-ins. Please run 'hp-plugin' as normal user to install plug-ins.Visit http://hplipopensource.com for more infomation.
