Missing Ink Levels .. Photosmart Pro B8800

Asked by David Vincent-Jones

Ubuntu 8.10 with current HPLIP
Display regarding the state of all 8 cartridges should be shown in the 'HP Device Manager' under the Supplies tab.

What is shown are 5 cartridges and 2 print heads.

The Device Manager displayed list:
1. Photo Magenta and Photo Cyan print head
2. Photo Magenta ink cartridge
3. Photo Cyan ink cartridge
4. Yellow ink cartridge
5. Magenta ink cartridge
6. Cyan ink cartridge

Item 1 above is 'non-useful' information

Missing information from the list:
1. Mat Black ink cartridge
2. Light Gray ink cartridge
3. Photo Black ink cartridge

As a side note I see that the Windows driver correctly indicates levels for all 8 ink cartriges

Thank you;

David

Thanks for the info. We're looking into this and if we have a fix it will be in a future release of HPLIP.

Thanks for your support of HPLIP we appreciate it!

Thank you Aaron ...

FYI under this current release my Deskjet 970cxi (which is also configured) is not able to display any ink level information. This is a change from previous HPLIP releases.

I will, patiently, await further release versions.
