is hp 111p ubuntu supported

Asked by Skip S.

I have an old hp laserjet 111p. Can't get it to run with Ubuntu 8.10.
Think I have done a real good long check to find, but nothing comes up.

Is that a 3p (IIIP), not a 111p? The IIIp should be supported.

Skip,

I'm not sure what printer model you are asking about. I am unable to find an HP Laserjet 111P.

Please verify the model number and post it again.

Thanks.

Sorry for delay Aaron. It is an old laserjet. Works fine on xp. That is the correct name , it is referred to as a 3P but not when looking it up. It is Hewlett Packard 111p from the nameplate. You might look for others in the series--11p, 111p, 4p, 5p. I think because it is so old, like mid 90's it is beyond help. It works great on 98, ME, xp pro. Hate to toss it but trying to go all Ubuntu, hence the inquiry.
If you have an xp you can find it in the hp choices for setup so you can confirm you are looking for the right title. I have searched best I can and found nothing close in linux.

Maybe I blew it, maybe it is IIIp using cap i. Nameplate is more like IIIp.

Skip,

It doesn't appear that we support this device. Because of the age of the device it is no longer supported by HP and we wont be adding support in the future.

You can get more information on the support levels here:

I looked on LinuxPrinting (http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting) and haven't been able to find an alternative driver.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for looking. I couldn't find it either. I guess this solved the problem--it is not listed.
