printer (PSC) fails to print but scanner OK

Asked by rogerdgill

Linux Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex
Printer HP PSC 1350

Everything was working OK until, using Open Office 2.4, I pressed print before switching the printer on. Since then I have not been able to print anything whilst working in Linux.

Using HPLIP device manager the scanner function works OK but "print test page" produces nothing.

I also have Virtual box installed, running Vista, and printer works OK from this application.

Help will be appreciated

Cheers

Roger

It would be that this job is "stuck" in the printer queue.

Try running

lprm 48

Power cycle the printer..

Then run:

hp-testpage

Does the testpage print correctly?

Hi Aaron

Thanks, lrpm produced no output.
The Hp testpage output is copied below

Run hp-toolbox, click the printer queue, click printer control, click start printer. Then try printing again. More then likely the printer had some error and was stopped by cups. Starting it again should get the print jobs a flowing.

The reason I believe this is from the error "lpr: Destination "psc-1300-series" is not accepting jobs." this generally means the queue is stopped or rejecting jobs.

Hope this helps.

Good morning,

Hope you get this on time,I made a trip to Ankara (Turkey) i  had my bag stolen from me with my passport and personal effects therein. The embassy has just issued me a temporary passport but I have to pay for a ticket and settle my hotel bills with the Manager.

I have made contact with my bank but it would take me 5-7 working days to access funds in my account, the bad news is my flight will be leaving in less than 12-hrs from now but I am having problems settling the hotel bills and the hotel manager won't let me leave until I settle the bills, I need your help/LOAN financially and I promise to make the refund once I get back home, you are my last resort and hope, Please let me know if I can count on you and I need you to keep checking your email because it's the only way I can reach you.

Your assistance in resolving this would be much appreciated

Waiting for you mail Regards
Roger
