Problems with HP Officejet j4680: cups-missing-filter error

Asked by antonioatzori

Hi,
I have installed hplip 3.9.2 with ubuntu 8.04 to use my HP OJ j4680.
The drivers are correct, the program can "see" the printer (can also report the cartridge status) but doesn't print, occours the error: cups-missing-filter.
Which is the problem?
Thanks

HPLIP is able to detect the printer and seems to have good communication with it--however there doesn't seem to be any printer queues configured.

To configure the printer please run:

sudo hp-setup

Thanks.

I did it during hplip installation.
I do it again now, creating a new printer with the same caracteristic of the previous.
The same error appears: cups-missing-filter.
I don't understand where the problem is.

Thanks.
