Asked by slowlap

ubuntu8.10 using HPLIP 2.8.12,Drivers for C4500 series on HP C4585 photosmart all in on printer/scanner.
Has been printing perfectly, but has started to print very slowly, even on test page. have run "hp-check -t", here is the output:

paul@paul-laptop:~$ hp-check -t

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the
HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies
are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode
will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).

Press the Cancel and the Colour Copy buttons together on the printer's keypad. A printer test page will print. If that one is slow too, the printer may be running out of ink.

If not, tell us if the printer is connected wirelessly or by USB cable to the router. Does it print slowly if you connect it directly to the Mac and add a new printer connection?

Sorry - I see now your message subject line says 'not connected by USB'. I guess that answers one of my questions.

If it printed the printer test report and with a direct USB connection at normal speed, the problem is likely interference with the printer's wireless connection to the router. Have you moved either since this problem started?
