can't print in color after adding new color cartridge.have been using black only

i was using print using only black cartridge and now I cant get it to change back to use color so i can print photosi recently added a new color cartridge. I have tried to change the settings and it changes back befor it prints, also can't use thick glossy paper to print photos it won feed through just jams up. what can i do?

   Try to setup the printer setting through cups & try it should solve your problem.

I replaced the sample color cartridges but the printer doesn't print in color. I looked at the settings and it said the printer was set up to print in color, but it doesn't work. I tried troubleshooting, and that says the problem is fixed (wrong problem) what else might I try to fix the problem
