printer installation and printing problem

i have 6th gen core i3 desktop and a P1106 laserjet printer
I have installed Ubantu 16.04 version because 14.04 could not be installed
my desktop is working fine with 16.04
now the main problem is printing
i have P1106 printer
which i cant installed
one time i have successfully installed but could not print
when i am giving a print command the printer green led blink twice after that the printer not responding
at this situation how can i install and print from my P1106 printer
