can anyone help me add a printer when it says no device found when i try to find is on my network

Kelly,

Run terminal--click:

Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal

Then type: hp-check -t

and hit enter.

Then copy the output and paste it here so we can look at it.

Thanks!

Hi Aaron, I was able to get it printing but not through the HP thing I just
went to the printer icon in the applications box and it located the printer
and I was able to load it. But if I go to the HP toolbox it cant find the
printer.
Thanks for your help. My daughter is using that computer right now to do
her homework but as soon as she is done I will follow your instructions.
Thanks again,
Kelly

.

This is probably because the printer isn't using the HPLIP backend.

Try running this..click Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal.

Then type:

sudo apt-get install hplip-gui

then to configure the printer run:

sudo hp-setup

Hope this helps.

Aaron
