install with suse10 of HP photosmart 5280

Asked by sabatier

Hello,
My computer is a HPmini with suse 10 linux novell enterprise desktop
My HPLIP version is 2.8.2-24.1

I have checked, before buying it, that my printer HP photosmart C5280 is supported by hplip.
when i create a new printer, the printer is recognized
i choose 5280 series in the list
then i have to find a PPD file but i don't know where i can find it
the printer doesn't print but appears in the list of the printers.
Thank you for help.

I would like to add that i'm not at ease with linux and that i just want to use it...

Please open a terminal and run hp-check -t and post the output.

Terminal is listed in the Suse applications..then you just enter hp-check -t and press enter.

Thanks!

Aaron

Your device is supported by the HPLIP version installed.

You should only need to run:

su -c "hp-setup"

to configure the printer..

Hope this helps!

Aaron
