Ubuntu 8.10 Can't find network printers. Was working before

I connect to the local network wirelessly. two networked printers. everything was fine until recently. cannot print. cannot find either printer on network. Network has Windows, Mac os 10 and this Ubuntu box on it. Hplip not working? related to recent update? Still a little new to linux.

Do you mean that hp-setup does not auto detect the printers on the network? Sometimes the detection doesn't detect, but you should be able to do "Find Manually" and enter the IP address of the printer.

If this doesn't work run hp-check -t and post the output.

hp-makeuri ip.address.of.printer

and post the output.

Could we be barking up the wrong tree? Maybe there's an issue with network settings? I hadn't changed anything until printing stopped working.

Again, there are two networked printers, neither shows up.

This computer is not the "main" computer of the network. The main computer is a Mac OS 10 which does not belong to me.

OK, I can print on one of the printers now. I figure out how to make the HP cough up it's ip address. I had been changed somehow. I still don't know why this system won't dtect the other one. I had to manually find the HP to reconnect it.

Any ideas on finding the ip of the second printer? Sometimes the Hp Is very busy and It is necessary to use the other printer.

How Do i find the ip of the second printer? This one does not have an interface like the hp does. The Hp menu has an option to print the network address. The second printer does not.

Sorry by ip.address.of.printer I meant the actual hp-makeuri <insert actual ip of printer here> IE hp-makeuri 192.168.1.2

As for getting the ip address of the printer--what's the make model of the printer?
