prints aglinement page at startup EVERY time

Asked by John Hart

I just tried scanning the alignment page and completed that task. Then I turned off the printer, turned it back on and guess what? Another alignment page was printed. I did not have this problem until I installed HPLIP. I am wondering if I need HPLIP, it really is nice for scanning controp and ink levels. The icons are right for my two HP printers. It does seem to take along time on the first print job, when before everything just printed out.

Is there a configuration problem or a setting problem? I do not think it is a harware problem as it did not occur until loading HPLIP and commencement with its use.

This has nothing to do with software.

Alignment will not complete if the printer is not printing black and all three colours so you'll have to replace any empty cartridge. Also, the alignment page must be printed on plain white, new paper. Some low cost All-in-One models also require placing the just printed alignment page to be put on the scan glass and then pressing the scan button to complete the alignment.

Search for 'alignment' at hp.com/support for more info.

I finally got it to work. I had to reload the HP print drivers. Now I believe the printing process is good.
Thanks for the help.
