unable to install HP 8740 officejet pro, to linux operating system 18.1 Serena. help please

I have a HP officejet pro all in one 8740 series.
Computer has Linux operating system 18.1 Serena.
Tried everything to get them connected so I can copy, fax, scan, print.
Ive spent multiple hours trying to do this w/o success.
Does anyone know how its done?

I need help in connecting the hp printer properly. I thought i did it
