Unable to install Lazerjet 4300dtn in Ubuntu 16.04

Asked by Lily

Good afternoon,

I am trying to install my printer, a Lazerjet 4300dtn
I have connected the printer via ethernet to the modem/wireless router and have been trying to follow the instructions on this site, but I cannot succeed in connecting with my printer.
I located the printers IP address by using the printers menu to print the printers configuration information

I am using the pre-installed hplip 3.16.3 and when I use the setup it gives me these errors whether I use the default wired search or the advanced search for the printers IP. I have double checked the ethernet connections - the printer worked fine at my workplace and prints its own config page with no issues - (and yes, I have turned everything off and on again!)

I do not know heaps about linux, so I am unsure of how to proceed. When I try to install the above components it says they are already installed ( I not tried installing all of them, but I have tried several)

I am running Ubuntu studio
Kernel 4.4.0-65-low latency, 64-bit
Version 16.04

I have tried the add a printer GUI in systems as well. I know my printers IP address, but it doesn't work (even with the ip:// in front - allthough I may be misunderstanding how to enter this address..)

Thanks
