Sorry I'm not clear of the problem you are having.

If you'd like to replace the ink cartridge with a new ink cartridge please refer to your HP DeskJet F4272 manual for specific information on how to do this.

Hello Aaron,
Many thanks for helping me. Now I've understood how to do
reading the users' guide. I was confused because my OS is
Linux Ubuntu 8.04 and not Windows. During the setup I didn't
think of linux or windows, with the computer disconnected to the
printer, and thus now all is OK. Thanks again and I wish you
merry christmas and a happy new year
