Quality print Deskjet F2280 and problems with Hp Device manager

Asked by zephyr83

Sorry for my english. I have HP Deskjet F2280. I try frugalware 0.9 (hplip 2.8.7), mandriva 2008 (hplip 2.8.9) and Mepis 8 (hplip 2.8.6) and the quality text print is very poor. In windows is ok.
On Frugalware and Mandriva if I install printer from browser web (http://localhost:631) the printer (HP1) works but HP Device manager doesn't recognize it. If I install it also with HP Device manager (HP2) I can't print: Device communication error. http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/3724/hperrorwi9.jpg
However I see level of ink http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/1701/hpok1um1.jpg
If before I try print with HP2 (it doesn't works) after again HP1 doen't works....I have to restart printer, after it works.
In http://localhost:631/printers I see that the URI device is different http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/9299/hpcupsnc9.jpg (Deskjet_F2200 is HP2 and Deskjet_F2280 is HP1).
With mepis I haven't this problem, I configure printer only with HP Device Manager but I don't see the ink level. If I start hp-toolbox from consolle I have this problem:"error: Unable to load dbus - Automatic status updates in HPLIP Device Manager will be disabled."

Please try with HPLIP 2.8.10. If it's still a problem run hp-check -t and post the output.

Thanks!

Aaron
