The D2500 series is supported by HPLIP. However it appears we missed this specific model.

This will be fixed in the next release of HPLIP--however in the meanwhile you can follow the steps below to get the printer working.

Edit the file /usr/share/hplip/data/models/models.dat

Find the section: [deskjet_d2500_series]

Replace:

model1=HP Deskjet D2545 Printer
model2=HP Deskjet D2530 Printer
model3=HP Deskjet D2560 Printer

With:

model1=HP Deskjet D2545 Printer
model2=HP Deskjet D2530 Printer
model3=HP Deskjet D2560 Printer
model3=HP Deskjet D2568 Printer

Run sudo hp-setup.

Hope this helps.

Sorry this should actually be:

model1=HP Deskjet D2545 Printer
model2=HP Deskjet D2530 Printer
model3=HP Deskjet D2560 Printer
model4=HP Deskjet D2568 Printer

Forgot to change the model number.

I've verified that it's in mine...

Try uninstalling hplip and re-installing.

To remove hplip:

rm -rf /usr/share/hplip

Hope this helps.
