Scan support will be enabled when this device is supported. Which, in theory, should be the next release of HPLIP.

I thought this, but is there a roadmap or something else where I could see when the next release is planed? Maybe this should be in the FAQ´s.

We don't usually post the upcoming changes in HPLIP. Primarily because depending on limitations we may not be able to add the features/printers that we'd like for that release.

Although I'll bring this up with the team and see if this is an option.
