hplip psc1510 hp-toolbox

Asked by iulek

Hi,

I just made a fresh install of openSuSE 11.0. To use my HP PSC 1510 multifunctional, I installed, through YaST2, the packages hplip, hplip-hpijs, python-qt and python-qt4. At issuein the command hp-toolbox, I receive the message
error: PyQt not installed. GUI not available. Exiting.
warning: Qt/PyQt initialization failed.
error: hp-toolbox requires GUI support. Exiting.

... my message broke...
... continuing....

I checked again and the python-qt packages are installed. Otherwise, I downloaded the last hplip.run file and at executing it I got an error at the "make" step (error code 2).
  At running hp-check, I got

error: CUPSEXT could not be loaded. Please check HPLIP installation.

As understand I should be able to install my printer with the hplip package that came on the SuSE CD. But it is strange that it cannot locate PyQt. How could I overcome this problem? I have already spent several days trying to devise a way. Thanks. J.
