Asked by Javier Diaz de Leon

Hi there,

I am getting this warnings:

warning: Fail to read ppd=/etc/cups/ppd/HP-Deskjet-2540-series.ppd file
warning: Insufficient permission to access file /etc/cups/ppd/HP-Deskjet-2540-series.ppd
warning: Could not complete Queue(s) configuration check

/warning: Supplies information not available for this device.

How can I provide "sufficient" permission to access the file above?

Thanks

The user javier is not member of the lp (lineprinter) group, but this is required to access certain printing functions.

sudo useradd -G lp javier

You have to log off and log on again for the change to take effect.

javier@javier-Predator-G3-710:~$ *sudo useradd -G lp javier*
[sudo] password for javier:
useradd: *user 'javier' already exists*
javier@javier-Predator-G3-710:~$

What am I doing wrong?

I have the same problem.
My printer seems to be installed (HP LaserJet Professional P 1102w) but my printing jobs stop out of the blue.
I'm running Ubuntu 18.10, HPLIP 3.19.1, I followed the instructions above but that didn't helped either.
Also tried doing chmode 666 to discard it being a file permissions issue, but the problem persists.

Can you help with this problem?
