Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the HPLIP supplied tarball
(.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc)
or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will check both of the above cases
(both compile- and run-time dependencies).

For some reason it doesn't look like there are any CUPS queues configured.

Try running hp-setup to configure the printer and try again. The printer queue needs to be setup for scan to work correctly.

Hope this heps.

How to help to solve this bug ?
In the changelog of 2.8.9 we can read :
Scanning is now supported on the following printers: HP LaserJet m1005, HP LaserJet m1120 MFP, HP LaserJet m1120n MFP, and HP LaserJet m1319f MFP. A binary plugin is required for scanning support.

Fabien I think our request is ignored. If you install on your Linux host an XP virtual machine the scan will work. Take care if you have an x64 you must install the adequate soft on your virtual machine.

We weren't aware there was a network version of the LaserJet M1120(n) so we'll be looking at adding scanning support in a future release.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Scanning with HPLIP 2.8.10 should work over USB however.

Hi, I have the version hplip 2.8.12 and I have a working network printer, but the error when I try to network scan with xsane:

"scanimage: open of device hpaio:/net/HP_LaserJet_M1120n_MFP?ip=192.168.1.3 failed: Device busy"

Do you plan to fix this problem in the next versions of hplip?

Thanks a lot

Mira
